The Cultural Shift: Salone del Mobile and HOST in Riyadh Change the Rules for “Made in Italy”

Autumn 2025 marks a strategic turning point for “Made in Italy” in Saudi Arabia. Within the span of just a few weeks, two trade fair giants will land in Riyadh: Salone del Mobile.Milano, making its debut in November, and HOST Milano, launching its Middle East edition in December. This move goes far beyond simple commercial expansion; it signals a profound shift in the relationship between the two markets.

The most powerful signal of this new phase is the strategic decision to keep the name “Salone del Mobile di Milano” in Italian. This detail transcends mere marketing and demonstrates a new maturity in the Saudi market: they are no longer simply importing a product, but actively seeking the culture, style, and ideology it represents. “Made in Italy” is no longer just a label of origin, but a complete value system that is both recognized and demanded.

These events are not merely showcases; they are strategic beachheads. The arrival of HOST and Salone del Mobile acts as a trailblazer for the entire design and hospitality supply chain and, consequently, for all related sectors. They are paving the way not only for large, internationalized groups but also for the vast network of SMEs and artisanal districts that constitute the true strength of Italian know-how.

This phenomenon is not limited to furniture, interior design, or hospitality; it is a broader trend. The Saudi market, in the midst of the monumental transformation driven by Vision 2030 and with its giga-projects under construction, is sending a clear message: it welcomes with open arms not just the products, but the entire Italian industrial, design, and stylistic culture.
