Saudi Arabia has officially unveiled a comprehensive 50-year tourism roadmap alongside a global forum TOURISE, cementing its transformation into a proactive architect of the travel industry’s future. This initiative comes on the heels of the kingdom welcoming nearly 100 million visitors in 2024  — well ahead of its 2030 target.

TOURISE: A Global Industry Game-Changer

Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb introduced TOURISE, scheduled for November 11–13, 2025, in Riyadh, as a pioneering forum that brings together leaders in tourism, technology, investment, sustainability, and culture. TOURISE will operate year‑round through digital working groups, white papers, innovation awards, and indices designed to drive transformative impact.

Driving Technology, Sustainability and Inclusion

The event’s themes reflect modern priorities: AI-powered tourism, disruptive business models, elevated travel experiences, and sustainability-centered growth. Al Khateeb emphasized the sector’s rapid evolution and the need for adaptability to technological advancements, changing traveler expectations, and a strong focus on sustainability.

Economic Momentum and Visitor Targets

Saudi Arabia’s tourism success is already visible: approximately 30 million international tourists visited in 2024, contributing roughly 5 percent of GDP. With the roadmap, the kingdom aims to attract 150 million annual visitors by 2030.

Leveraging Major Tourism Projects

The strategic plan complements landmark developments such as the Red Sea Project, NEOM, and Diriyah — all supported by ongoing investments in connectivity, infrastructure, and cultural heritage. TOURISE will also launch its inaugural Awards, covering excellence in sustainability, digital innovation, credentialed cultural preservation, and talent development among tourism entities.

A Cultural and Economic Pivot

Saudi Arabia’s shift from a pilgrimage-focused model to a multi-dimensional tourism powerhouse is evidence of its Vision 2030 ambition. With TOURISE, the kingdom is not just opening its doors; it’s taking the lead in how the world travels, connects, and collaborates.

Upcoming economy-wide trends signal persistent momentum. As Saudi Arabia redefines itself on the world tourism stage, TOURISE is poised to shape global tourism through strategic, inclusive, and sustainable action.
