Jeddah Unveils 29 New Investment Opportunities as Part of Urban Expansion Push

Jeddah Municipality has launched a major new wave of investment opportunities, unveiling 29 projects across more than 1.4 million square meters, targeting commercial, industrial, residential, and recreational sectors. The announcement signals an intensified drive to attract private sector participation in the city’s transformation, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The new portfolio includes 13 commercial projects focused on developing and operating retail spaces and commercial complexes across key districts. Among the largest ventures are two major “container cities” — one spanning 846,684 sq. meters and another 429,223 sq. meters — designed to support logistics and light industrial activity.

Other projects include a barley milling and packaging facility covering 145,472 sq. meters, eight residential compounds for workers, and eight public parks integrating kindergartens and retail outlets. In South Obhur, a designated food truck zone has also been launched under the municipal incubator program. Additionally, a new health college development has been announced to support education sector growth.

Proposals for all projects are being accepted through the Furas platform, with submissions open from May 1 to July 8, 2025. The platform offers streamlined access for investors and reflects the Kingdom’s shift toward a more unified, transparent approach to municipal investment.

This latest initiative follows a similar announcement in Riyadh earlier this year. In March, Riyadh Municipality launched 20 investment opportunities, covering 175,000 sq. meters and including mixed-use developments, commercial centers, and industrial zones. These investments are part of a broader nationwide effort to boost economic diversification and urban livability.

Riyadh has also expanded green spaces, adding 87 new parks since 2022, contributing to over 745,000 sq. meters of multifunctional community areas. Jeddah’s parallel developments underscore the Kingdom’s strategic commitment to sustainable growth, public-private collaboration, and creating vibrant, livable urban environments.
